NSW: Cyber 'Fort Knox' opens in Sydney, creating 65 jobs
A new $160 million data centre billed as a kind of cyber "Fort Knox" for IT companieshas opened in Sydney.
The British Global Switch Data Centre, at Ultimo in central Sydney, is one of the mostsecure data storage centres in Australia and the Australasian region.
It promises to create 65 direct jobs.
Speaking at yesterday's launch, NSW Premier BOB CARR said the facility is a hi-tech,high security electronic warehouse for Australia's fast growing internet, e-business andtelecommunications companies.
